Summit has collaborated with Real Taste Catering to infuse heathier options for meals throughout the school day. Scholars that eat all of their fruits and vegetables Monday through Thursday are allowed to wear jeans with their Tindley polo on Fridays. Scholars are also tending to a garden that includes spinach, turnips, collard greens and other vegetables. Volunteers from Salesforce, Felege Hiywot Center, former Tindley scholars and community members worked together to build the raised garden beds. Scholars are also learning about life cycles of plants and different types of vegetation through their science and guided reading curriculum.
