Tindley Summit Academy has been fortunate enough to collaborate with Community Health Network, and Level 10 Martial Arts College to provide an overarching service through traditional martial arts training. The program, which was piloted during the 2014-15 school year, assisted in positively addressing physical and mental health concerns and has helped to promote a culture of anti-bullying through mindfulness, self-awareness and self-discipline. Since the implementation last year was so successful, Summit will double the amount of scholars that will participate in after school programming for the 2015-16 year. The After-School program will begin the first week of November. Summit’s Physical Education teacher is also receiving Martial Arts training twice a week and Leadership training twice a month through Level 10 Martial Arts College. He is infusing Martial Arts throughout the daily Physical Education curriculum so that all scholars may benefit.
